Our mission

Paperwork shouldn't cost anyone their benefits. Many people lose SNAP or Medicaid not because they stopped qualifying, but because a form was confusing or a deadline slipped by. We make free tools that help people do this paperwork themselves, with confidence.

Who we are

Clara Helps is a small project and a nonprofit in formation. We are not part of any government agency, and we are not affiliated with HHSC or the State of Texas. We don't sell anything, and we never see your information.

How we keep the steps right

We write the steps from official sources, like the state's handbook and public pages. We mark anything we haven't checked yet. If the website ever says something different from us, follow the website, and please tell us.

Open source

All of the guide's code is open source, under the GNU General Public License (GPL), version 3 or later. Anyone can read it and check our promises. See the code (link coming at launch).
