Most SNAP benefits last 6 months. HHSC mails your renewal letter the month before your last month. Turn in your renewal by the 15th of your last month, and finish your phone interview by the last work day of that month.

Have these ready
- Your renewal letter (Form H1830-R)It shows the date HHSC must get your form and the number to call for your interview.
- Your last 2 pay stubs, a letter from your boss, or self-employment recordsTo show money from work for anyone on your case.
- Award letters for Social Security, SSI, pension, unemployment or veterans benefitsTo show other money your household gets.
- Your newest bank statement for each account
- Rent receipt, lease or mortgage statementHousing costs can raise your benefits. Renters also need the landlord's name, address and phone.
- Medical bills or receiptsShow costs you have now and expect to have.
- Child care or adult care receipts
- Court papers for child support you pay, or proof of child support you get
- ID for you and for anyone helping you as your representative
